TOMORROW’S USDA WILL BE CRUCIAL

AUDIO COMMENTARY

  • Markets waiting on the USDA

  • Wide corn yield range: 182.1 to 173.2 bpa

  • What are some things we could see?

  • Ways the USDA plays with the balance sheet

  • Ending stocks will tell the markets potential

  • We know we will have a higher carry in

  • Does demand have to go lower tomorrow?

  • What is the market pricing in vs not expecting

  • Upside potential is absolutely still there, but that doesn’t mean there is not any downside risk

  • Reasons why I think yield comes lower

  • Crop ratings, ear counts & other data

  • Why 2010 type of reaction is not impossible

  • Be proactive if you need to be proactive

  • Remaining patient for those that can be

  • Weather has not helped this crop

  • USDA has a history of scaling into things

  • Was 2025 overstated & 2024 understated?

  • Concern would be that USDA waits until January

  • Know your specific risks. Are you oversold? Do you need to move stuff etc.

  • The best route if you are oversold

QUICK CHART UPDATE

by Sebastian

Dec Corn 🌽

Still at support inside the golden zone.

Re-testing those May highs.

Since we sliced though the volume gap to the downside, we are now again at an area of high volume. But since there is now a volume gap to the upside, prices could move through it fast if we decide to rally. As the upside is wide open if we start to move out of here. Given there is zero resistance or support above here.

With that being said, if we are going to find a bottom. This would be where we would expect it to happen. However, if we break below the 61.8% retracement down to the August lows it would not be a good look. But for now this is viewed as support unless it breaks.

But the ball is ultimately in the USDA’s court.

Nov Beans 🌱

The biggest thing I am watching is the bottom of that old range we were trapped in.

We were trapped in that range for several weeks. We broke below last week, we then came up and re-tested that old support before rejecting off that level.

Then just yesterday we went up to test that old support once again, yet failed.

So that is going to be clear resistance and the level to watch. If you are able to break back above that old support and back into the prior range, it would make me a lot more confident soybeans have put in their bottom.

To the downside, the clear level to watch is those recent lows. If we start to break below those lows, there is very low volume to the downside until closer to that $12.50 level. Which is also the 50% retracement down to the August lows. That would also re-test the July highs. So we want to hold the recent lows.

So for now we are essentially range bound between the recent lows, and the bottom of that old range.

Dec KC Wheat 🌾

Still sitting in support like corn.

This is the golden zone all the way down to the July lows. We are re-testing some big prior support and resistance.

We have a massive shelf of volume that sits right here. It’s peak volume.

So this is viewed as support here and where a bounce would make sense.

I would only start to be concerned if wheat started to break below this box. Breaking below wouldn’t be a great sign. As there is very little support beneath.
